Getting married is supposed to be one of the happiest days of your life, but if a loved one is no longer with you, it can be bittersweet. I am so sorry if this is you and I know personally how heartbreaking it can be.

Many Brides find comfort including their loved ones in a special way and having something meaningful hand painted on your wedding shoes is a beautiful way to honour them and the love that’ll always live on in your heart.

If you have lost your Dad, perhaps choose your right shoe to have your memorial painted. I know it’s not the same as having him there in person on your right side and nothing can make up for the loss.  But in one sense, this way, he will still be with you every step of the way, walking you down the aisle.

Weddings can also be a hard time for Mothers of Bride or Groom who have been widowed, because they should have been watching their children get married together. I find they often take comfort in having a small white feather hand painted on to their shoes too.
