My Five Top Tips for getting the most out of Wedding Fairs

Wedding Fairs

Wedding Fairs are a great way to find out what is available to you and to meet the vendors, all in one place and possibly with a glass of Champagne in hand! Here are my five top tips for getting the most out of your visit to a Wedding Fair.

1.  In an ideal world, your Groom, would be as enthusiastic and  interested in all the planning and decisions as you. However, the reality often is, that they aren’t that bothered about all the details and would much rather leave it to you. So unless you are planning to make the big decisions such as booking venue, you maybe better off (and have more fun!) taking a friend or your bridesmaids to come to the wedding fairs with you.

I often say, the Brides “do” the wedding and the Groom are happy enough to think they have done their bit by proposing!

They often can only show a snap shot of what they are offering. For example, last week a couple were looking at my hand painted shoes and said how lovely they were, but weren’t suitable as they were having a Disney inspired wedding. I was able to say that I could paint what they wanted and they are chuffed to bits.  I am really looking forward to making their vision come to life. Check out our Gallery

3. Go to wedding fairs with an open mind. You may be going with booking the big things in mind, such as a venue or photographer. However, it is a great opportunity to get some of the smaller things ticked off your list too, such as invites or shoes! You don’t have to order there and then, but you will have started a conversation and will know if this is someone you would like to work with.

These are a great visual aid to remind you who is who, especially if there were several exhibitors offering similar things. Have a sort through when you get home and keep those that are of interest, even if you may not be needing them for a few months. Pop them in a file or enter their details into your phone. There is nothing more annoying by not being able to find their details further down the line!

5. My last tip for Wedding Fairs is, if you found some potential exhibitors that you would consider working with, follow them on Facebook and Instagram. That way you can get more of a feel for them, the way they do business and you will be the first to know of any new products or promotions!

I hope you found these tips useful. If you did and you would like to keep up to date with all that The Pretty Wedding Company has to offer you, please come on over and follow us on Instagram or Facebook!    Do share in the comments your experience of Wedding Fairs, good or bad!
